1964 – The High Numbers play Town Hall in Greenwich

1966 – “I’m a Boy” hits its official U.K. chart peak at #2. Jim Reeves’ “Distant Drums” keeps it from the #1 spot.

1968 – Who are at IBC Studios

1976 – Pete attends country & western singer Don Williams’ concert at the Hammersmith Odeon then is photographed backstage with him, Ronnie Lane and Eric Clapton. Pete and Ronnie will cover Williams’ “Til the Rivers All Run Dry” on Rough Mix.

1980 – Us magazine does an interview with Roger. He complains about the effect of touring on his nerves: “I’m edgy after I finish a tour. After weeks of being exposed to the din of loud music, all sounds play on my sensitivity. I can’t bear bells, shouting, even the hum of an electric razor. It takes about a month to adjust.

1982 – The Who play the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan

1985 – Pete appears on NBC’s Today show promoting his new album, film and book Horse’s Neck

1989 – On the day she and Pete were to adopt a baby boy, Karen discovers she is pregnant

1990 – The Best play Koshien Stadium

1999 – Actor Peter Gallagher appears on NBC-TV’s Late Night With Conan O’Brien. Gallagher says he has recently been working with Pete in New York on Saturdays. The two have been workshopping a stage version of Psychoderelict.

2000 – The Who play the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Ohio

2000 – Music365 reports that Roger will star in an upcoming film called Chemical Wedding based on an album by Iron Maiden front man Bruce Dickinson and produced by Terry Jones of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Simon Callow takes Roger’s role by the time the film is finally made and released in 2008.

2005 – Variety reports that Spitfire Pictures has brought on Mike Myers to star in Roger’s long-discussed Keith Moon bio-movie

2005 – A documentary about the G8 summit and the protests around it, entitled Won’t Get Fooled Again, premiers at the Edinburgh film festival.

2005 – During the month author Colette Shaw puts out a new novel also called Won’t Get Fooled Again

2006 – The Who play the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario, Canada

2011 – Roger plays the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto

2012 – The Sunday Times has a special section with revelations from Who I Am

1963 – The Detours play the White Hart Hotel in Acton

1964 – The High Numbers play the Railway Hotel in Wealdstone

1969 – The Who play the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Netherlands

1972 – Pete releases the album Who Came First as a solo album although it is primarily a compilation of demo tracks recorded over the past two years for The Who and previously released selections from the Meher Baba albums Happy Birthday and I Am. Most reviewers find it pleasant listening with Records and Recording magazine praising Pete for a religious album that is not insipid. The album reaches #30 in the U.K. In the U.S., Who Came First is not released until early November where it peaks at #69

1972 – The Ellis Group releases their album Riding On The Crest Of A Slump in the U.K. It is produced by Roger and fails to chart. The U.S. release, similarly fated in the charts, does not happen until Jan. 17th.

1982 – The Who play the Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana

1994 – Pete calls in to WBCN-FM in Boston for their “Totally Townshend” morning show. He says he met with Roger the day before. Roger was there seeking Pete’s approval for a Keith Moon biopic.

1994 – Pete is interviewed by the BPI Entertainment Wire: “‘I feel pretty good at the moment about the Who. I’ve gone through a confusing period, made some mistakes. It’s hard to live with the deaths of Keith, Kit Lambert and the kids in Cincinnati. But I’ve forgiven everybody, including myself. I’m just very, very grateful to have survived, to survive the chaos of that time.”

1999 – All the 90’s reissue Who CD’s, except the boxset but including the as yet un-reissued The Kids Are Alright soundtrack, are released in Japan as CD-sized duplicates of the original albums.

2004 – Christie’s auctions five pieces of one of Keith Moon’s silver Premiere kits to an American collector for £120,000. Meanwhile a 1963 white Gibson SG Special played by Pete during the U.K. 1973 tour is won with a bid of £85,000

2006 – The Who play the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan

2010 – The Steve Bell comic “IF…” features a Who reference

2017 – The Who play Estadio Monumental in Santiago, Chile
